KeymasterVMD should still work, and PyMol should work using older BlendMol versions on Blender 2.79. All the best.

KeymasterHi KJ. Much thanks for your interest in Blendmol. PyMol import on Blender 2.8 is currently broken because of a Blender Bug in
the X3D importer. Preliminary tests with Blender 2.81 alpha suggest this Blender bug will soon be fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience.Jacob Durrant
KeymasterExcellent catch, Nikhil. Much thanks for bringing this bug to my attention. It will be fixed in version 1.1.2. All the best.

KeymasterHi all. Please forgive my delay in responding. I only recently realized that this forum doesn’t automatically email me when new people post.
BlendMol 1.0 is not compatible with Blender 2.8, but BlendMol 1.1 is. I only recently published BlendMol 1.1, so I suspect you’re using the older version. You can download BlendMol 1.1 here: http://git.durrantlab.com/jdurrant/blendmol
Let me know if you run into any bugs. Much thanks for your interest!

KeymasterHi Eamonn. Much thanks for your interest in BlendMol. BlendMol 1.0 was not compatible with Blender 2.8, but BlendMol 1.1 is. Version 1.1 was only recently released. Would you mind downloading and installing the latest version from https://git.durrantlab.pitt.edu/jdurrant/blendmol ?
Let me know if you have any problems with the newer BlendMol download.
All the best.
